Fried Vegan Bacon Potatoes

Duration: 30min cooking
Money: 2€ per person (for 2 portions)

Ingredients:

  • 4 big or 8 small potatoes
  • 1 pack (200g) of smoked tofu
  • 1 big white onion
  • 1 bush of parsley
  • salt and pepper (if you want you can add "Kala Namak"-salt which has an egg like flavour)

How to:

Step 1: Heat up water and start boiling the whole potatoes.

Step 2: Cut a pack of smoked tofu into little cubes and start frying them in a pan with the oil of your choice, until they are brownish and crunchy. Then put them out onto a separate dish.

Step 3: After that cut the onion in bigger pieces and fry them in the same oil, in which you fried the tofu, to maintain the smokey flavour. When the onions start to get glassy (on small to medium temperature), put them out of the pan and mix them with the tofu pieces.

Step 4: You know that the potatoes are ready, when they are soft enough so you can push a fork through them. Then take them out and cut them into small triangles. Put them into the tofu pan and start frying them from both sides, so they get crunchy and golden.

Step 5: Mix everything, season it with salt and pepper and with the cut parsley.

READY

Tips:
You should definitely check out that "Kala Namak"-salt, it is amazing. It adds an egg flavour to every dish!
